Our story

From two bikes
to a business.

Two brothers. One promise. A whole lot of hard work.

Matthew & Nolan — blowing leaves as kids

Butler’s Landscaping & Hauling started with two brothers, Matthew and Nolan, and a simple promise to their mom.

Growing up just 10 months and three weeks apart, they did practically everything together.

When they were around 13, they both wanted SE Bikes. Their mom explained that buying two expensive bikes wasn’t possible.

Their answer?

“Don’t worry, Mom. We’ll work and save the money ourselves.”

And that’s exactly what they did.

Their mom drove them to homes throughout Smithtown and Hauppauge, where they spent weekends pulling weeds, spreading mulch, raking leaves, and cleaning yards.

Eventually, they earned enough to buy their bikes. But they didn’t stop working.

They discovered they loved being outdoors, transforming properties, and building something together.

Year after year, they saved and reinvested. Better equipment followed. Then trucks, trailers, and eventually their own business.

Today, Matthew and Nolan are the hands-on owners of Butler’s Landscaping & Hauling, bringing that same determination to every job.

They believe in showing up, working hard, treating customers fairly, and leaving every property better than they found it.

What started with two kids working for bikes became a local business built on hard work and the support of their community.
